AuroraHut - Unique experiences powered by EFOY

After many years of camping, we just wanted to try a holiday with a motorhome and spent 4 weeks in Scotland with a rented motorhome. However, being entirely off-grid was very limited due to lack of power. Nevertheless we decided to buy a motorhome and ordered solar cells on the roof. We were still not satisfied, however, as the electricity was not available at all times of the day and night. I became aware of the "EFOY" fuel cell through advertisements in the magazine "Promobil" and at the Caravan Fair in Düsseldorf. After we had calculated our electricity consumption, the decision was made. Since we had decided to buy a new motorhome, we also ordered an EFOY, and when the motorhome arrived at our dealer’s, we looked for the best place together. In the semi-integrated model, the ideal installation location was found in the side dinette. Since the EFOY is very quiet, I just put in a false floor and attached some styrofoam and you heard absolutely nothing, even though it’s located inside the vehicle. The exhaust air is routed outside and the special canisters are easy to change. We always carry a 5l reserve with us and since the EFOY is very economical, I can’t actually tell you how often we need to change it. The unit works fully automatically and only needs to be removed with two quick manoeuvres in frosty conditions. Since then we have been truly independent.

We go to the mountains all over Europe very often and being self-sufficient is a must. Often we have experienced that other motorhomes have disappeared in the afternoon in the direction of the camping site to use heating, television and light without restrictions. Finally, we stood all alone and still did not have to do without anything. On pitches, electricity is now increasingly being billed separately or via electricity pillars, so I can wave goodbye with a smile. This often made other motorhome owners curious, so our EFOY has already been photographed, and maybe one or two of them already have one. At this year’s caravan fair we have again fallen for – and ordered – a better motorhome. The first decision was that our fuel cell would be removed from the old motorhome and transferred to the new one. However, we haven’t decided yet where we’re going to put it. This will be discussed again with the dealer. A second living area battery was ordered for more capacity. The EFOY has always provided us with sufficient power, and we are convinced that the new motorhome will allow us to fully enjoy our sense of freedom. Next year we will be going to Iceland, where our fuel cell can show its advantages. To sum up, we can say that we’re completely satisfied with the EFOY and would make this decision again at any time.
